Mia Weinberg creates art that calls attention to the tiniest fragments of organic matter. She believes there is potential in the microscopic to reawaken an awareness that life on this earth is full of wonder, full of mystery. Mia’s hope is that her art will encourage the viewer to become re-enchanted by the truly marvellous in the everyday. Mia uses digital scanning technology to capture her source images. She often chooses to work with botanical specimens that are in the process of decay because especially in their passage through death, they lead to regeneration, new beginnings, and exhibit extraordinary beauty.
